The Catania Amphitheatre, built in the 2nd Century AD, is an ancient Roman structure located in Catania, Sicily. Once one of the largest in the Roman Empire, it accommodated around 15,000 spectators for various events.
Situated between Piazza Stesicoro and Via Neve, much of the amphitheatre remains buried under modern buildings and streets, with only portions visible at street level.
Excavations have uncovered only parts of the structure, leaving questions about its full extent and features, adding to the fascination of this significant historical landmark

East Parthian Cataphract, Parthian Horse-Archer, and Parthian Cataphract from Hatra, by Angus McBride. One of Rome's most feared nemeses, who they never truly defeated. Some of Rome's worst defeats, such as Carrhae in 53 B.C., came at the hands of Parthia. Emperor Trajan took advantage of Parthian infighting and won a string of victories during his conquests of Armenia and Mesopotamia (114 to 117 A.D.), reaching as far as modern-day Kuwait and the Persian Gulf. However, he never managed to capture the city of Hatra. Following Trajan's death in 117, Emperor Hadrian withdrew Roman forces back across the Euphrates, as the Empire was too far extended, with the costs and risk of trying to hold the Tigris and Euphrates, plus the northwestern Persian Gulf, outstripping any potential gains. Emperor Lucius Verus defeated the Parthian in his war of 161 to 166, though territory changes were minor and the war came at great cost.

Babylon, one of the most famous cities of antiquity. It was the capital of southern Mesopotamia (Babylonia) from the early 2nd millennium to the early 1st millennium BCE and capital of the Neo-Babylonian (Chaldean) empire in the 7th and 6th centuries BCE, when it was at the height of its splendor. Its extensive ruins, on the Euphrates River about 55 miles (88 km) south of Baghdad, lie near the modern town of Al-Ḥillah, Iraq.

Gavrinis is a small island in the Gulf of Morbihan in Brittany, France. It contains the Gavrinis tomb, a Neolithic passage tomb built around 4200–4000 BC, making it one of the world's oldest surviving buildings. Stones inside the passage and chamber are covered in megalithic art. It is likened to other Neolithic passage tombs such as Barnenez in Brittany and Newgrange in Ireland.

A 19th century depiction of the Flavian Amphitheatre next to the 98-foot-tall bronze Colossus of Nero. This was later modified to resemble the sun god, Sol. The statue disappears from record after the 4th century, and is thought to have either been destroyed during the Sacking of Rome in 410, or toppled in an earthquake. One popular theory is that the amphitheatre's proximity to the Colossus is what led to it later being known as the Colosseum, though this has never been verified.

Mauzoleum Cecylii Metelli
„Caeciliae, Q. Cretici f., Metellae Crassi”
(stąd przydomek) i prawdopodobnie żona Publiusza Licyniusza Krassusa, porucznika Juliusza Cezara w czasie wojen galijskich i syna triumwira Marka Licyniusza Krassusa.

The final bridge of the Paloma aqueduct stands as a modest, well-maintained structure on the outskirts of the town, near Cañada de la Chorrera. Spanning 32 meters in length, it remains in a fairly good condition, featuring three arches that vary in width from 3.87 meters at the center to 3.58 meters at the sides (equivalent to 13 and 12 Roman feet). The water channel, or specus, is still noticeable atop the bridge, measuring 0.42 meters in width and 0.56 meters in depth. On its eastern side, there's a cylindrical basin within the specus, 0.62 cm across, designed likely for trapping sediments before water flowed over the bridge. Roughly 50 meters west of the bridge, the aqueduct connects to the town's wall.
